| Dear *****,
Another update of our website has just been uploaded. There is one minor structural change, being the addition of a Sheaffer PFM page.
New stock added this month includes some very desirable Sheaffer pens including Nostalgia (three versions), PFM, Connaisseur, Targa, Imperial and Crest. Of course we offer free delivery to the Chicago Pen Show.

| Pen Shows |

MVPens travels to the Chicago Pen Show at the end of this month. Always one of the bigger shows, and in recent years, never without an operational controversy.
Our next show after Chicago will be Washington DC in August. I usually use my United Airlines frequent flier miles to buy a ticket for this show, but they are getting as hard to deal with as Qantas on non- revenue reward seats; pity, as United has previously been a great airline to deal with.

There are three kinds of people in the world: those who can't stand Picasso, those who can't stand Raphael, and those who've never heard of either of them.

| Box & Papers |
|
We're continually being asked, 'does it come with box and papers'. If we don't mention it in the listing, it doesn't. However, if you are buying the pen to give as a gift, we can usually find a suitable box, but it may increase the postage costs.
Many pens sold over the years arrived at the retailer in trays rather than gift boxes. The retailer then put them in an appropriate (single, duo, trio) box at the point of sale; staff were encouraged to up-sell or add-on pencils etc. Of course there would have been times when the box supplied was not that intended by the manufacturer.

| Blast from the Past |
|
From an Australian trade magazine of 1942 in an article on Government imposed restrictions titled 'Further Restrictions and Prohibitions':
"Fountain Pens & Propelling Pencils
The use of Fancy Boxes (individual and gift sets) is to be discontinued, but pens and pencils may be packed individually in cartons of the minimum size and substance for their protection."
